Slow Day? 12 Ways to Fill Empty Chairs on a Quiet Tuesday
Saturday is a blur. Tuesday at 2 pm, you could hear a pin drop. The rent is the same on both days, and so are the salaries. Quiet hours are where profit goes to hide, and most owners just wait for them to end.
You can do more than wait. Here are twelve things that work, roughly in the order we’d try them.
First, find out which hours are empty
1. Look at the numbers, not your memory. Tuesdays feel dead because the last one was. The Rush Hours report in Salonipy shows your busiest and quietest times, so you target the real gap instead of guessing.
Offers that fill specific hours
2. A weekday-only offer. A small discount on one or two services for Monday to Wednesday before 4 pm. Name it and keep it narrow, so it doesn’t drag your Saturday prices down. A Promo Code with a date range and a limit keeps it controlled.
3. Package the quiet hours. A “Midweek Glow” bundle (facial plus manicure, say) at a fair price, only on slow days. A deal that’s sold in advance fills the diary even if the client comes later.
4. Offer long services in the gaps. Keratin, colour and bridal trials take hours. A client who can come at 11 on a Tuesday often wants to, and you can say “this slot is easier for us and more relaxed for you.”
Bring back the people who already know you
5. Message the clients who are due. The Due Again screen shows who’s due for keratin, colour, facials and similar services. A WhatsApp message with a free slot for this week often does it.
6. Write to the ones who’ve gone quiet. Client Health lists clients at risk of drifting away. A friendly “we haven’t seen you in a while” with a specific time works better than a general broadcast.
7. Use your waitlist. People who couldn’t get Saturday are often glad of Tuesday. Message them first.
8. Rebook before they leave. Every client who walks out with a date in the diary is one you won’t need to chase. The Rebook at Checkout feature opens a planner right on the sale so the next visit is booked while she’s still at the desk.
Use the time you do have
9. Take your photos. A quiet afternoon is the best time to shoot before-and-after pictures, update your Google profile and answer reviews. Our Google reviews guide shows how to ask without being pushy.
10. Train the team. A new technique, a new product or a practice session on a mannequin. Staff who learn on slow days earn more on busy ones.
11. Do the jobs that are never done. A stock count, a deep clean of the basins and the colour shelf, tidying the price list. Quiet hours are when you have time to do it properly.
Think about who else could be in your chair
12. Ask the neighbours. Nearby offices, shops and schools have staff with free hours and, sometimes, a reason to look good (events, weddings). A short note or a small midweek group offer gets you through the door.
One rule for all of these
Try one at a time for two weeks, and write down what you did and what happened. Otherwise you’ll never know which one worked. Salonipy’s Campaign Results shows who came back after each message and what they spent, so you can drop what doesn’t pay.
